Data Storage and Sync

Local Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage mechanisms.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, LibriY uses Apple’s CloudKit to sync your:

  • Saved audiobooks
  • Playback progress
  • Current listening position

This sync is:

  • Controlled entirely by your device’s iCloud settings
  • Encrypted by Apple
  • Only accessible to you across your own devices
  • Can be disabled at any time through iOS Settings

Downloaded audio files are stored only on your device and are not synced to iCloud.

Third-Party Services

LibriVox API

LibriY retrieves audiobook information and audio files from LibriVox, a free public domain audiobook service. When you browse or play audiobooks, the app makes requests to LibriVox servers to:

  • Fetch audiobook listings
  • Retrieve audiobook metadata (titles, authors, descriptions)
  • Stream or download audio files

LibriVox’s privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy, available at librivox.org.

No Analytics or Tracking

LibriY does not use any analytics services, tracking tools, or advertising frameworks. We do not collect usage statistics or track your behavior in any way.

Data Sharing

LibriY does not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third parties. All data remains:

  • On your device
  • In your personal iCloud account (if sync is enabled)
  • Never transmitted to the developer or any other party

Children’s Privacy

LibriY does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is designed to be safe for users of all ages as it collects no personal information.

Data Security

Your data security is important to us:

  • All data is stored using iOS standard security mechanisms
  • iCloud sync uses Apple’s encryption
  • Downloaded audio files are stored securely on your device
  • No data is transmitted to external servers except for audiobook content from LibriVox

Your Rights and Choices

You have complete control over your data:

  • Delete Your Data: Uninstalling LibriY removes all locally stored data
  • Disable iCloud Sync: Turn off iCloud for LibriY in iOS Settings to prevent syncing
  • Clear Downloads: Delete downloaded audiobooks at any time through the app
